A day in the life of…

I’m currently trying to stick to eating 1,500 calories a day. After a few weeks falling off the wagon this week has seen a drastic improvement. Here’s a typical daily intake:

Now it’s not perfectly balanced – the chocolate mousse tips me over my ideal amount if saturated fat, but it’s a vast improvement on what I have been eating and comes in at 1,486 calories for the whole day. Washed down with 2 litres of water, of course.

  1. My diet is all over the shop this time round, but last year when I was trying to lose weight and marathon training I was on 1800 cals a day. That was advised by a dietician and it worked really well. It’s not sustainable to stick to 1500 (I’ve found) when training for a marathon – you’re constantly starving and your body doesn’t have the fuel it needs. I was steadily losing weight but still had the energy I needed to run 3 times a week and do some gym classes.
